How does your media product represent particular social group?

The image I used is similar like the picture of Alex Turner from The Arctic Monkeys and it is similar to my image used on my front cover. Both of the images seem to be part of the younger generation as they look it with their hair, clothes and even their postures. Both people are smoking, looking cool and both look like they dont really care what others will think of them. Both these images show attitude which is the look I was wanting for my magazine. This image represents a younger social group whom listen to alternative rock and other such genres. It shows that this social group rebels against normal sociaty, such as smoking which is seen to be dirty and bad for you, but in these images it makes them look cool, with the help of the lether jacket and the sunglasses aswell.
The characteristics are similar too as my model is looking cool as he is casually sitting smoking looking away from the camera, showing that he doesnt really care. Thier hair is similar in both of the images which again represents the social group whom listen to this music genre. One of the differences is that the angle of the shot is slightly different as mine is to the side of the model insted of being straight at him. On my image the model is sitting down on a set of stairs as on the image of Alex Turner he is walking. It represents this certain social group as being layed back and not caring what others think of them which can be both possitive and negetive. The possitive side is that they dont let things that others say get to them but the negative they can be seen as being arigant and lazy.
All of this still fits in with my target audience and is similar to the other picture that I am comparing it too. It is similar to my target audience’s social group as the clothes and hair are similar to what they wear in everyday life. Even the facial expressions will fit in with that social group as they are still teens, layed back and not really caring about anything. They fit in with the teenager stereotype. Also they give out a sense of attitude in this image that I have taken.
